Synthesis of Hollow Sphere and 1D Structural Materials by Sol-Gel Process

Abstract: The sol-gel method is a simple and facile wet chemical process for fabricating advanced materials with high homogeneity, high purity, and excellent chemical reactivity at a relatively low temperature. By adjusting the processing parameters, the sol-gel technique can be used to prepare hollow sphere and 1D structural materials that exhibit a wide application in the fields of catalyst, drug or gene carriers, photoactive, sensors and Li-ion batteries. This feature article reviewed the development of the preparati… Show more

“…Additionally, the application of the sol-gel technique should be extended from single-phase materials to complex systems (binary and ternary system) to fulfill increased demands across various fields. [283] Electrospinning is the most powerful tool for production of continuous 1D nanofibers among other methods, but it also possesses several limitations. i) Polyolefins are largely absent from the list of hundreds of polymers that are electrospun so far.…”

“…Before calcination the particle was in amorphous phase and after calcination, a cubic structure was present. The cubic structure of NiNPs formed with an average diameter of approximately 32.9 nm 67,68 . Aisha et al, used aqueous solution of nickel nitrate hexahydrate converted to green precipitate at pH 11 which was dried and calcined at 550 °C for 3 hours during the sol-gel synthesis of NiNPs of 40-45 nm 69 .…”
