Synthesis of Gallane‐Amine adducts as potential precursors for GaAs and (AlGa)as MOVPE processes and the crystal structure of the {gallane · 1,3‐bis(dimethylamino)propane} adduct H3Ga · N(CH3)2(CH2)3N(CH3)2

Abstract: MATERIALSrified by vacuum distillation. TPB (purity, >99% by HPLC) was synthesized as previously described [ll]. Silica-gel plates with fluorescent indicator (Eastman Kodak) were used for thin-layer chromatography (TLC) analyses. “…Previously reported reaction of H 3 Ga(NMe 3 ) with a symmetric diamine, Me(H)NCH 2 CH 2 N(H)Me, afforded a gallane-rich compound, H 5 Ga 3 {[N(Me)CH 2 ] 2 } 2 , due to elimination of all the protons of the amine groups . Tertiary diamines, Me 2 NCH 2 CH 2 NMe 2 or Me 2 NCH 2 CH 2 CH 2 NMe 2 , reacted with H 3 Ga(NMe 3 ) to give gallane adducts, H 3 GaNMe 2 CH 2 CH 2 N(Me 2 )GaH 3 11,21 and H 3 GaNMe 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 NMe 2 .
