Synthesis and gelation of fluoroalkyl end‐capped copolymers containing glucosyl segments: Application to new fluorinated conductive polymer electrolytes

Abstract: Fluoroalkyl end-capped copolymers containing glucosyl segments were prepared by the copolymerizations of fluoroalkanoyl peroxides with 2-glucosyoxyethyl methacrylate (GEMA) and comonomers such as acrylic acid (ACA) and methacrylate monomer-containing poly(oxyethylene) units (PME). Under the non-cross-linked conditions, fluoroalkyl end-capped GEMA-ACA and GEMA-PME copolymers were found to cause a gelation in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), where the aggregations of end-capped fluoroalkyl segments and the hydrogen-bo… Show more

“…The polymerization was quenched by 5% HCl ethanol solution, re-precipitated several times from THF/ethanol to give a white powder. The B(iOPr) 3 was subjected to initiate the ring-opening polymerization of e-caprolactone for mechanism study following similar procedures, and no visible polymers were observed, similar to the reported literature [31].…”

“…6b are different from that of B(i-OPr) 3 [33], and they were attributed to the (CH 3 ) 2 CHO-Ln-structure(Ln means rare earth center). Unfortunately, the complex cluster structure of Ln(O-iPr) 3 [34,35] precluded further comparison.…”
