Synthesis and characterization of transition metal complexes of 4-Amino-5-pyridyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol

Abstract: Series of coordination complexes of Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Sn(II) metal with 4-amino-5-(pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol, as a ligand has been successfully prepared in alcoholic medium. The prepared complexes were characterized quantitatively and qualitatively by using: microelemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, 1H and 13C NMR, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. This triazole ligand act as bidentate that coordination to the metal ions through sulphur … Show more

“…The other bands (such as C¼C and CeH aromatic) did not show any shift, in agreement with the fact that they did not participate in the complexation [21]. The appearance of new bands at 484 and 471 cm À1 could be ascribed to MÀN vibrations [21]. The major IR bands and their tentative assignments [23,24] are summarized in Table S1.…”

“…S3), the C¼N band was shifted to a lower wavenumber in comparison to the ligand, thus indicating that the coordination took place via the nitrogen atom of the ligand [22]. “…At the outset of the research, this was invoked to be the pesticide used for mango trees which are present in the area of study. The weak C-S band at 668 cm -1 should theoretically shift to a higher frequency due to the increasing bond order of carbon-sulfur bond while the C = N band is shifted to a lower frequency due perhaps to complexation with other available matrix (Haddad et al, 2013). The copper to sulfur band was not seen and could be an indication that sulfur is ionically bonded to Cu (II) in thiodiazole-copper complex and could have dissolve in water (Bharty et al, 2012).…”
