Abstract:Two new complexes, namely [Cd(L) 2 (2,2 0 -bipy)] (1) and [(HL)(4,4 0 -bipy) 0.5 ((H 2 O)] (2) (HL D 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid, 2,2 0 -bipy D 2,2 0 -bipyridine and 4,4 0 -bipy D 4,4 0 -bipyridine), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal diffraction analysis. The structure of complex 1 is molecular dimer, which is connected by stronger hydrogen bond interactions to result in a 2D network. While complex 2 is composed of two organic ligands molecular dimer and one water mol… Show more
“…The bond lengths and angles are in the range of 2.3162( 16)-2.4423( 14) Å and 54.58(4)-142.45( 5)°(ESI: † Table S3), which are similar to that of other reported hepta-coordinated Cd(II) compounds containing carboxylate ligands and 2,2′-bipy. [46][47][48] Additionally, its crystal structure presents two occluded MeOH molecules.…”
Five Cd(ii) complexes based on α-acetamidocinnamic acid (HACA) and a set of N,N^N and N^N^N-pyridine (dPy) yield complexes with diverse nuclearities and enhanced quantum yields, benefiting from the chelation enhanced effect (CHEF) of dPy.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
