A Systematic Overview of Radiation Therapy Effects in Urinary Bladder Cancer

“…Each study has insufficient power to establish definitive treatment recommendations and only the smallest study showed an overall survival benefit for the patients treated with primary cystectomy. A Cochrane meta-analysis (42) has been performed including the randomized studies performed in 1966 Á/1986 (37 Á/39, 41). The conclusion was: 'the evidence consistently favours surgery' (with preoperative radiotherapy) but 'the randomized trials evaluated in this analysis were not recent and major advances have been made since these trial commenced in both surgery and radiotherapy'.…”
