However, it has to be mentioned that due to uncertainty surrounding whether saccotomy is a valid treatment for MD (37), and the relative small number of patients, these data have to be interpreted with caution. In the future, further studies correlating the VAS with other findings, such as effectiveness of different therapies, but also with the variant symptoms of MD, should be performed on larger series of patients to determine whether the VAS is a valid tool to stage MD patients.…”
