Surface Modification of Al Foils for Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor

Abstract: Miniaturization and light weight of aluminum electrolytic capacitor can be achieved via the enhancement in the specific capacitance of anodized aluminum foils resulted from the introduction of compounds with high permittivity into dielectric layer. However, the electrostatic repulsion between the compounds and aluminum substrates hinders this introduction of the compounds, leading to a limited improvement in the specific capacitance. In this work, a novel strategy has been developed to promote the deposition o… Show more

“…S7(b)†). We suggest that Al/S-LDH is a promising candidate for application in aluminium electrolytic capacitors due to simple control of the nanostructure and superior dielectric constant ( ε ); the values are 7–10 for aluminium oxide, 39 and 8.4–9.3 for LiAl 5 O 8 . 40 The measured C s values of Al/S-LDH electrode were 14 μF, 10 μF, 9.8 μF, and 9.2 μF at sweep rates of 100 mV s −1 , 300 mV s −1 , 500 mV s −1 , and 1000 mV s −1 , respectively, in the potential range from −0.5 to 0.7 V, (Fig.…”
