Summary Thirty‐three patients with dematomycosis were treated locally with econazole (Peva‐ryl creme® 1%). After treatment twice daily for 4 weeks 66 % of the patients were cured, and after 2 × 4 weeks 78%. In addition to the sites showing subjective symptomes of mycosis, both groin and feet were examined as a matter of routine, clinically as well as mycologically. Thirty per cent of these supplementary tests turned out positive. Sixteen cured patients were examined 4 months after the termination of the treatment. Recurrence was found in 7 (44 %) patients. It was concluded that both supplementary examinations and follow‐up examinations are necessary to ensure a sufficient therapy of dermatomycosis. Zusammenfassung Bei 33 Patienten wurde klinisch und mykologisch eine Dermatomykose der unterschied‐lichsten Lokalisationen diagnostiziert. Bei der routinemäßigen Durchuntersuchung dieser Patienten wurde bei 10 (30%) von ihnen zusatzlich eine Mykose der Fiifie oder der Lei‐stenregion nachgewiesen. Die infizierten Stellen wurden lokal mit Econazolnitrat (Pevaryl‐Creme® 1 %) täglich 2mal behandelt. Nach 4 Wochen wurden 22 (66 %), nach 8 Wochen 25 (78 %)der Patienten klinisch und mykologisch als geheilt befunden. Sechzehn der geheilten Patienten wurden 4 Monate nach Abschlufi der Behandlung aufs neue untersucht. Sieben (44 %) dieser Patienten waren reinfiziert. Bei der Lokalbehandlung von Dermatomykosen sind Ergänzungsuntersuchungen der Prädilektionsstellen und Nachuntersuchungen von größter Wichtigkeit.
