Abstract: 1. The purpose of the investigation was to find the factors responsible for a good primary result by pleoptic treatment and the factors important for maintaining these good results.The material consisted of 412 patients from all over the country. The relative distribution was: Helsinki 35/100 000 inhabitants, Province of Uusimaa surrounding Helsinki 36/100000 and the rest of Finland 2/100 000 inhabitants.
