Subsequent Displacement of Initially Nondisplaced and Minimally Displaced Fractures of the Lateral Humeral Condyle in Children

Abstract: Fractures with less than or equal to 2 mm of displacement can probably be primarily treated safely by cast immobilization. Anteroposterior and lateral radiographs out of plaster between the fourth and sixth days are necessary to diagnose subsequent displacement of unstable fractures, whereas further "late" displacement did not occur.

“…Of the 6 studies reporting displacement rates 2,4,6,10,12,13 (Table 2), 355 patients with fractures of the lateral humeral condyle measuring r2 mm and initially treated with immobilization were identified. Of these patients, 53 (14.9%) were documented to have delayed displacement.…”

Tag ausgeschlossen werden [7,10,11,14] (s.a. Abbildung 15).
