Contralateral acoustic reflex abnormalities, which were present in 50% of the AMN patients in this study, have also been reported in patients with a variety of neurological conditions including patients with multiple sclerosis [21]. It should be noted that while abnormalities in the acoustic reflex were found, in no case were reflexes entirely absent for stimulation of both ears for all reflex conditions.…”

Stephens, et al, 9 found that unilateral abnormalities in low redundancy speech tests were related to contralateral wave V abnormalities on the ABR. The generator of waves IV and V in humans is presumed to be the up· per brain stem which is beyond the decussation at the level of superior olivary complex.…”
