Closed Cervical Tracheal Rupture

“…Soothill (1960), while reporting a case of closed traumatic rupture of cervical trachea, reviewed the world literature since 1922. He recorded a series of 14 cases of closed injury to the cervical trachea, out of which only 2 had been treated conservatively (Nach and Rothman 1943; Metson 1953). Shaw et al in 1961 reported another 13 cases with traumatic tracheal rupture, of which in 9 cases there was involvement of the cervical trachea.…”
