Study the Effect of Mycorrizal Fungi¸Chitosan and Cycocel on Agronomic Characteristics of Rainfed Chickpea

Abstract: This experiment was conducted as split-split plot in a randomized complete block design in two consecutive years (2016-2017) in rainfed conditions of Iran. The main plot consisted of mycorrhiza inoculations (uninoculation: control and inoculation) by Glomus intraradices and sub plot involved chitosan application (0, 0.5 and 1gr/lit) and sub-subplots were foliar application of cycocel (0, 0.5 and 1 gr/lit). The results showed that the number of infertile pods was influenced by chitosan, cycocel, interactions of… Show more

“…5 ). The reason may be attributed to the synergistic effect of AMF has increased the number of pods by increasing the absorption of water and nutrients ( Rezaie et al, 2020 ). Although numerous of researches reported that AMF improved crop yield ( Espidkar et al, 2017 ; Zhu et al, 2017 ; Sharma et al, 2019 ), some studies involved that the yield benefits of AMF in agroecosystems are often overstated ( Duan et al, 2010 ; Ryan & Graham, 2018 ).…”

“…To evaluate the importance of AMF for crop yield under rainfed condition, we need a profound quantitative understanding. The mechanism that AMF can increase the crop yield under rainfed agriculture has been testified in some crops including wheat ( Zhu et al, 2017 ), barley ( Espidkar et al, 2017 ), soybean ( Suri & Choudhary, 2013 ), and chickpea ( Erman et al, 2011 ; Sharma et al, 2019 ; Rezaie et al, 2020 ). However, the quantitative estimation of predictor variables on crop responses to inoculation with AMF in rainfed agriculture is scarce on a global scale.…”

“…In the plant system, chitosan has been reported to induce multifaceted disease resistance M.A. Rezaie et al (2020). Furthermore, the benefits of nanotechnology innovations have been initiated to discover the synthesis of various chitosan-based nanoparticles Chandra et al (2015) Chitosan based nanoparticles blend with various active components have been synthesized Kashyap et al (2015).…”
