“…Atmospheric aspects and oceanographic responses to Gonu have been studied by different researchers (Fritz et al [21]; Krishna and Rao [22]; Dibajnia et al [23]; Wang et al [24]; Mashhadi et al [20]). Dibajnia et al [23] used the 3rd generation WAVEWATCH-III wave model to simulate the wave field generated by Gonu in the northern Oman Sea and along the Iranian coasts.…”

“…The resulting warm waters along tropical and subtropical coasts are a principal source of heat and moisture to the lower atmosphere, affecting cloud processes, precipitation and local winds. They therefore provide moist enthalpy (i.e., latent and sensible heat flux) to the boundary layer which may, for example, intensify tropical cyclones [ Krishna and Rao , 2009]. Quantification of surface layer turbulent fluxes over reefs is therefore important for establishing the correct lower boundary conditions in atmospheric global circulation and regional forecasting models so that more accurate predictions of weather are available for marine and coastal locations.…”

“…Several researchers attempted to study impact and variations of turbulent fluxes during storms passage using modeling and observational campaigns (Rotunno and Emanuel, 1987;Emanuel, 1999;Krishna and Rao, 2009). In this study variation of air-sea fluxes viz.…”
