“…The energy band for ISC is dramatically narrowed after the formation of Ln 3+ coordination bonds (Figure S16), which could account for a prolonged lifetime. Besides, the energy transfer efficiency (η FRET ) from sensitizers to Ln 3+ has been calculated through lifetime measurements and the Paulose equation: η FRET = 1 − τ x τ 0 where η FRET is FRET efficiency and τ x and τ 0 are the PL lifetimes of Ln x -HOF and HOF at 515 nm, respectively. At the same content, Tb 3+ has much higher η FRET (92.17%) than that of Eu 3+ (9.88%) due to its lower Δ E FRET , demonstrating Tb 3+ is easier to be sensitized than Eu 3+ to induce faster decay of PL.…”
