Studies on the Effectiveness of Noise Protection for an Enclosed Industrial Area Using Global Active Noise Reduction Systems

Abstract: A global noise protective solution, based on the idea of virtual acoustic corridors, dedicated to industrial areas, is investigated. Research studies on decentralized ANC system with several secondary sources and error sensors are performed in the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology. The models of the electro-acoustic paths are obtained through dynamical systems identification. Experimental results from the proposed active noise reduction system are presented, based on recorded noise signals from the Rybnik P… Show more

“…The first one is active noise control (ANC). 79 In this approach, loudspeakers are used as secondary sources to generate antiphase signal for the cancellation of the primary sound field. The other one is the active structural acoustic control (ASAC) technique in which the sound radiated by structures is controlled using one or several control actuators applied directly on the vibrating structures.…”

“…What is intended is to minimize not just the mean square value of the acoustic signal at the error sensor but also to minimize the control effort. Latos and Stankiewicz 16 present studies on global active noise control in enclosed industrial areas with multiple secondary sources and error sensors. Xu el al.…”
