Mine transportation of materials in underground mine workings is realized by mine underground railways as well as by suspended monorails or floor-mounted railway. Transportation is realized on tracks placed on the floor of working or on rails suspended to roadway support. Each transport operation must be preceded by a transport design project, made in accordance with obligatory legislation. A part of the project are traction calculations. Their implementation in a computer program allows for minimization of the possibility of errors during the configuration of suspended queues and conducting traction calculations, which consequently leads to improve the level of safety. The article discusses the modular Safe Trans Design system, supporting the design of auxiliary mine transportation. The system has been implemented in the mines of JSW S.A. The assumptions and structure of the system as well as algorithms of operation of the ‘configurator of transportation sets’ and ‘assessment and reporting module’ are presented. The method of creating an auxiliary mine transportation system project is presented. Safe Trans Design system is used in planning, organizational and training activities implemented as part of transport safety management in mining plants. Developed methods can be easily adapted to other legislations of hard coal producers’ countries, where suspended monorails are used in underground auxiliary mining transportation systems.

Active control of harmonic sound transmission through an acoustically baffled, rectangular, simply supported double panel partition has been analytically studied. Velocity potential method is used for the vibro-acoustic modeling unlike the commonly used cavity mode method. It is very well-known that at high frequencies uncontrolled double panel partition mostly radiates sound due to the dipole-type motion of the radiating panel, which the volume velocity method can't be able to detect, therefore, weighted sum of spatial gradients is used to control these modes and achieves sound attenuation in a broad frequency band. A piezoceramic actuator (lead zirconate titanate) is attached on one side of the panel surface, and the optimal magnitude and phase of the voltage supplied to the lead zirconate titanate for minimizing the weighted sum of spatial gradients and volume velocity at the error sensor locations are calculated using a simple-gradient based algorithm. Numerical results of sound power transmission ratio and averaged quadratic velocity of panels indicate that lead zirconate titanate should be placed on the incident panel and minimization of the control quantities should be done on the radiating panel to achieve better sound attenuation. The acoustic radiation mode analysis shows that the weighted sum of spatial gradients is able to control multiple acoustic radiation modes and, thereby, accomplishes better reduction of sound power transmission compared to volume velocity.

Linear quadratic Gaussian optimal control is one of the techniques used for active noise control. In practical implementation of this technique, one of the key difficulties faced is the estimation of the states of the plant. A state observer that accurately estimates these states can be used in this regard. Studies reported make use of analytically or experimentally derived models to build observers. This paper proposes a method for active noise control in the framework of active structural-acoustic control incorporating system identification for the development of the linear quadratic Gaussian controller. Kalman filter is used as a stochastic state observer of the plant states. System identification is carried out using modal testing and finite element model updating to obtain an accurate model of the plant for building up the Kalman filter. The objective of the proposed method is to actively reduce the noise inside the cavity due to disturbances acting on the cavity structure. The active control is achieved by controlling the structural vibrations by taking into account the degree of coupling between the various structural and the acoustic modes. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated experimentally on a 3D rectangular box cavity with a flexible plate.
