The problem occurs in the learning process, where elementary school students are less motivated to understand material in the form of stories without pictures. Therefore, the researcher conducts this study to develop digital fairy tale media that is applied to second grade of elementary school students. This research is a type of research and development (R&D) or research and development according to Bord and Gall. The steps taken in this research and development, namely: research and data collection, planning, initial product development, initial field trials, revision of trial results, field trials, product enhancements that have been refined, field implementation trials, product improvement final, cementation and implementation. The research subjects were elementary school students. The product produced in this research is digital fairy tale learning media which was developed to add a variety of media. The results of the study show that the digital fairy tale learning media developed using the Bord and Gall model has been declared valid. Based on the material assessment it obtained a percentage of 75% with valid criteria, language assessment obtained a percentage of 95.45% with very valid criteria, and the media assessment obtained a percentage of 86.45% with very valid criteria. From students obtained through product trials in small groups, namely obtaining a score percentage of 90.52% with very valid criteria, and large group field trials obtaining a score percentage of 95.40% with very valid assessment criteria, and has a level of effectiveness of 93.63%.

The world of human education can be studied in a structured and well-supported manner. Because learning to build each person's personality. Interest is the tendency to observe and remember various activities. Always pay attention, followed by a sense of fun, interest, desire, concentration, and students' understanding of mathematics. Communication can be interpreted as a technique of conveying messages from a messenger to a recipient with the intention of expressing or informing a comment orally or in writing. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between interest and students' written communication skills in solving realistic mathematical problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data obtained by using questionnaires and tests. The subjects of this research were two students of class XI MIPA. The steps taken are through learning through the WhatsApp group by working on questionnaires and tests individually. The researcher identified and analyzed the answers to each indicator of interest and ability to write mathematical communications for each statement and question. The method of data analysis in this paper was tried through 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the paper show that the relationship between interest and written communication skills in solving realistic math problems is directly proportional, where student 1's interest is still low and his ability is still classified as poor. Student 2 has moderate interest and his abilities are also directly proportional, namely not too bad and not too good

Reading Interest and Proficiency of Grade 7 Learners

This descriptive-correlational study aimed to assess the reading interest and proficiency of 170 randomly selected Grade 7 learners. It utilized two sets of research instruments—the Learner’s Reading Interest Survey (RIS) and the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI). Specifically, a self-made questionnaire was used to assess the respondents’ reading interest, while the PHIL-IRI assessment tool was employed to gauge their reading proficiency. Statistical tools such as percentage, weighted mean, Linear Regression Analysis, and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that the majority of learners have a favorable attitude toward reading, with a preference for social media platforms as their primary reading resource. Overall, the learners’ reading proficiency, in terms of word reading score and comprehension score, is at the “frustration” level. The data further revealed that the frequency of (a) reading fiction and books, (b) utilizing online learning tools like social media posts, and (c) watching social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok is positively and significantly related to the learners’ reading proficiency in terms of reading score. Conversely, the frequency of (a) reading magazines and (b) watching TV programs like Food Network Asia is negatively and significantly related to the learners’ reading proficiency in terms of reading score. In conclusion, this inquiry sheds light on the complex relationship between students' reading preferences and their proficiency levels. While there is a prevalent inclination towards reading among learners, a noteworthy segment demonstrates restrained enthusiasm, primarily due to time constraints. Therefore, addressing obstacles such as limited time and harnessing digital tools are essential for devising effective approaches to improve reading engagement and skill levels.
