"Strukturierter Fragebogen Simulierter Symptome"

Abstract: The current article addresses the psychometric qualities of the German version of the Structured Inventory of Malingered Symptomatology (SIMS), a self-report measure of malingering. The SIMS was administered to a heterogeneous sample of forensic patients (n=62) and undergraduate students (n=204). “…Studies uniformly find that the alpha coefficients of the subscales are lower than that of the total scale, which is to be expected given that internal reliability is a function of item number. The internal consistency of the SIMS total scale is generally satisfactory (e.g., α = .80 in Cima et al, 2003; .72 in Merckelbach & Smith, 2003; .92-.94 in Rogers et al, 2014;and .96 in Vitacco et al, 2007).…”

“…A total score and scores for five symptom domains are obtained: Low Intelligence, Affective Disorders, Neurological Impairment, Psychosis, and Amnestic Disorders. The German version was developed by Cima et al (2003) and appears to be carefully validated using a total sample of more than 300 research participants. The authors also checked the cutoff for the diagnosis of negative response bias and proposed a cut score of 16.…”

“…Ihr praktischer Einsatz gewinnt an Verbreitung. Außerdem existiert bereits eine deutschsprachige Version [6] des Structured Inventory of Malingered Symptomatology [26]. Dagegen blieb eine vergleichbare Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet der Persönlichkeitsfragebögen zur Konstruktion, Validierung und Verbreitung von Indikatoren für negative Antwortverzerrungen (fake bad) aus.…”
