Computational thinking has been identified as an important approach for enabling students' better comprehension of science concepts as well as scientific procedures. Computation is useful in physics because it permits physics theories to be applied to issues that are complicated to fix analytically. Visual Python provides a 3D environment where learners may design 3D objects, apply a physical framework, and study the effects of altering parameters. The implementation and outcomes of a 6-week teacher-led computational thinking intervention with groups of 12th graders (n=60) are described in this study. Two research questions are being addressed using quantitative analysis and a quasi-experimental approach involving a pre- and post-test. The participants who received the six-week implementation on the experimental group performed significantly better on the post-test than the control group, which received only standard teaching lectures. The results indicated a statistically significant difference in mean scores between the experimental group (M = 24.03, SD = 4.68) and the control group (M = 20.3, SD = 5.38). The findings indicate that implementing computational thinking activities not only improves students' knowledge of physics concepts, but it also improves visual thinking, allowing students to better cognitively comprehend the problem.

The paper investigates the effectiveness of personal smartphones and other mobile devices for learning English at the tertiary level during hostility in Ukraine. The research methods included 1) general theoretical methods (analysis and synthesis); 2) empirical methods (quasi-experiment, observation, interpretation); 3) methods of mathematical statistics (Pearson’s criterion). The material of the research involved 80 students of the first year of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Kharkiv, Ukraine) during spring semester of 2021/2022 academic year. There were two samples: the experimental group (N = 40) that learned the course of “Legal English” exclusively through mobile devices and the control group (N = 40) that had only traditional forms of learning. The results revealed that academic progress of the students of the experimental group have improved by 15%, while achievements of the students of the control group have deteriorated by 10%. The reliability of the results is confirmed by the methods of mathematical statistics (p-value = 0.25; the significance level was chosen as 0.05). The conclusion is that mobile learning technology, which is able to provide students with access to systematic online training; platforms containing different textbooks and other local and remote educational content; as well as various educational services may become a great teaching and learning tool.

The article carries out a quantitative analysis of online courses on learning the Python programming language as of October 2022. Such online platforms as Codecademy, Alison, FutureLearn, Udemy, Edx were considered. The main requirements for software engineers training, as well as features of online courses on learning programming languages were highlighted. The authors analyzed samples of online courses, which were a) generated with an automatic search by the keyword “Python” and b) found manually by relevant thematic sections. The analysis was carried out separately for each sample according to various criteria: a number of courses, an approximate level of student training, the cost of taking an online course, and a possibility of obtaining a certificate/diploma. The largest number of courses on learning Python is presented on Udemy platform. Alison platform offers the fewest number of courses for learning the Python language. All platforms are aimed at different level of student training (beginner, intermediate, advanced). On Alison and Edx platforms, 100% of the courses are free, while on FutureLearn platform, all courses are payable. After completing online courses, students can receive a certificate (all MOOC) and/or a diploma (Alison, Edx). As Python popularity is growing, further research is planned to analyze online courses which are represented on various MOOC and are related to the use of the Python programming language in different areas.
