This article draws on a decade of research in strategic communication and especially on the contributions in this special issue to propose a new and more comprehensive definition of strategic communication. We argue that strategic communication encompasses all communication that is substantial for the survival and sustained success of an entity. Specifically, strategic communication is the purposeful use of communication by an entity to engage in conversations of strategic significance to its goals. Entity includes all kind of organizations (e.g., corporations, governments, or non-profits), as well as social movements and known individuals in the public sphere. Communication can play a distinctive role for the formulation, revision, presentation, execution, implementation, and operationalization of strategies. While there are many ways to investigate these research objects, strategic communication as a discipline takes the perspective of the focal organization/entity and its calculus to achieve specific goals by means of communication under conditions of limited resources and uncertainty. The article takes a critical look at the current state of the field and outlines several requirements that will help scholars and practitioners alike to build a unique body of knowledge in strategic communication.try to pursue their individual goals in an optimal way, while business administration and management science incorporates a broader research perspective, taking into account multiple and bounded rationalities as well as the need to handle economic challenges, as well as legal, ethical, ecological, and psychological problems, to name just a few dimensions of company life.Along this line, strategic communication can only flourish as a research field if it has specific research objects and a specific research perspective, along with institutional manifestations (publication outlets, conferences, study programs, research projects) that create an accumulated body of knowledge (theories, concepts and frameworks, empirical insights).These core assets will allow the discipline to enact a distinct role in the overall concert of knowledge production and disciplinary discourses. To this end, strategic communication needs to draw on other disciplines as well. As an applied science, it requires an interdisciplinary approach that integrates-but also limits itself to-any knowledge that helps to expand knowledge about the designated object and perspective of research (Szostak, 2013;. This article is devoted to outlining such an approach. We begin by exploring the various understandings of strategic communication that have organically emerged over the last decade.After reviewing currently co-existing approaches, we attempt a more precise and focused definition of strategic communication by offering answers to five key questions that have emerged as central to the strategic communications debate. A comprehensive examination of Russia's foreign policy in Latin America and the Caribbean shows that, while interstate relations varied in the first quarter of the twenty-first century with shifts in the international environment and the foreign and domestic sociopolitical situation, this policy was symbolic, ill-considered, and reactive. Post-Soviet Russia has not created a system of partnerships in the region that would ensure the stability of foreign policy outcomes in the face of fluctuations of the regional conjuncture. Un análisis exhaustivo de la política exterior de Rusia en América Latina y el Caribe muestra que, si bien las relaciones interestatales variaron en el primer cuarto del siglo XXI con cambios en el entorno internacional y la situación sociopolítica exterior e interna, esta política fue simbólica, poco recomendable y reactiva. La Rusia postsoviética no ha creado un sistema de asociaciones en la región que garantice la estabilidad de los resultados en política exterior ante las fluctuaciones de la coyuntura regional.

Today, the rapid development of the fourth industrial revolution and the emergence of the latest digital technologies leads to the gradual creation of a fundamentally new "socio-technological" reality - a metaverse that will permeate all levels of society and human existence: socio-social relations, economics, political processes, thus influencing the psychology of human consciousness and perception of reality. The existence, full functioning of this new "Reality 2.0" and its convergence with the physical world will be provided by a wide range of new technologies, one of which is "advanced" artificial intelligence (AI) systems, which will underlie the basis of the creation of the metaverse architecture itself and be used for 3D modeling, creation of digital objects, design and expansion virtual worlds-clusters, data analysis, etc. At the same time, metaverses implementing technologies of full immersion in virtual reality are able to release conflict potential and create a wide range of opportunities for ultimate antisocial impact on social processes, social groups and individuals through specific forms of malicious use of AI in order to undermine psychological stability (PS). The article will consider specific technologies of influencing the consciousness of users through AI. Special attention will be paid to how the use of AI systems in metaverses can produce local and global threats to psychological stability, and through that to political, economic, military institutions. The relevance of the paper is due to the growing popularity of the phenomenon of metaverses and growing number of users ("metacitizens"), increased investments in this area and the development of AI technologies that make the experience of being in the metaverses more immersive, which in turn makes users most vulnerable to HT psychological influences. Today, at the level of states, international institutions and global forums, the importance of regulating the new reality and creating a safe metaverse is being stated, which makes it necessary to study possible options for negative effects on consciousness through AI technologies and consider ways to counter these threats. At the same time, there is a lack of studies in this area that negatively affects the level of expert assessments, the effectiveness of decisionmaking and, more broadly, the level of awareness of the general public about the nature and size of emerging threats. The paper aims to close this gap whenever possible and contribute to a broader discussion on this hot issue.
