Notwithstanding the importance and relevance of gamification as a topical methodology in education, and after a literature review, there are just a few studies using role-playing games. In order to motivate and facilitate English as second language (ESL) learning of first year of Bachillerato (year 12) students at a public high school in the Region of Murcia (Spain) and following an action research methodology, we design, implement and evaluate a role-playing game, which consists of the creation and management of a company, The Tik Tok School. The results confirm that students felt more comfortable speaking in English because they were more motivated. They also state that during the experience they were more focused on learning rather than winning the game and that they prefer a gamification approach over traditional settings. Furthermore, they have been participating constantly using more English than Spanish. After the data analysis, we conclude that this methodology positively impacts motivation and the acquisition of a second language.

Entrepreneurship education complements vocational education in helping students develop their career prospects. This empirical study comprehensively analyzed sample data of 13,885 students from 40 “Double High-level Plan” higher vocational colleges in China using robust standard error regression analysis and other methods. The results showed that Entrepreneurship Practice (EP), Entrepreneurship Curriculum (EC), and Integration of Entrepreneurship Education and Professional Education (IEEPE) have a significant positive effect on Entrepreneurship Education Performance (EEP), with EP being the most important factor. Furthermore, ascribed factors (gender, household registration, only child or not, whether parents have entrepreneurial experience) and self-achieved factors (double high-level type, school area, subject major, whether to accept social entrepreneurship education) were found to affect students' perception of investment in entrepreneurship education. The study summarizes the existing problems of entrepreneurship education in “Double High-level Plan” higher vocational colleges and proposes four suggestions: pursue the integrated development of entrepreneurship education and “Double High-level” construction, advance both theoretical education and practical education, promote digital reform of the “three teaches” (teachers, teaching materials, and teaching methods), and develop entrepreneurship education in a comprehensive and balanced manner. This has certain theoretical and practical significance for the improvement of entrepreneurship education in other developing countries.

The aims to determine steps to increase the labor force absorption of the Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) sector. This research using the structural equation model partial least square (SEM-PLS) method with cross-section secondary data within provinces (34 provinces) from the 2016 Economic Census (2017 census). The analysis results showed that the labor force absorption of MSEs in Indonesia was directly and positively affected by the number of MSEs and the income of MSEs. The number of MSEs in Indonesia was positively affected by the education level of MSEs owners. Meanwhile, the income of MSEs was positively affected by the use of the internet (digital technology) of MSEs. The education level of MSE owners was the only factor that had an indirect positive effect on the labor force absorption of MSEs. Increasing the labor force absorption of MSEs in Indonesia can be promoted by strengthening the entrepreneurship curriculum to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in students, especially at the higher education level, to grow the startup businesses. In addition, digital marketing partnerships with various e-commerce platforms providing marketplaces and online courier service platforms to increase MSEs income are encouraged.
