Abstract:Abstract
In this work, we address the fundamental question of whether a magnetic material having zero net magnetization can produce polarized spin current from a completely unpolarized one. Common wisdom suggests that this is not possible, but if we break the symmetry in hopping integrals in different segments of the magnetic sample, then a finite possibility of getting polarized spin current is established. To substantiate this fact, we consider a one-dimensional magnetic chain with vanishing n… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
