“…Crossotolejeunea , Cyrtolejeunea , Dactylolejeunea and Otigoniolejeunea were excluded following their relegation to synonymy (Reiner‐Drehwald & Goda, 2000; Gradstein et al ., 2001; Grolle, Zhu & Gradstein, 2001; the phylogenetic positions of Crossotolejeunea , Dactylolejeunea and Otigoniolejeunea were not shown by Weis (2001) in spite of the inclusion of these taxa in the datamatrix). The rare genera Myriocolea and Sphaerolejeunea were newly analysed using recently discovered material with sporophytes (Reiner‐Drehwald & Drehwald, 2002; Gradstein, Reiner‐Drehwald & Jost, 2003). Potamolejeunea and Trachylejeunea p.p.…”

“…Amblyolejeunea fulfordiae Ast was originally described with the distinguishing characters of eplicate perianths, entire underleaves and large leaf lobules (Jovet‐Ast, ), however, these features were considered unstable and the former genus was synonymized under Lejeunea (Zhu & Cheng, ). In the morphological treatment of Sphaerolejeunea , Reiner‐Drehwald & Drehwald () postulated a sister relationship to Lejeunea based on morphological similarities but refrained from lowering the former with the latter genus. Heinrichs et al () proved in their molecular phylogenetic study that Sphaerolejeunea is not in a sister relationship to Lejeunea , but instead is nested within the latter genus, and thus they treated Sphaerolejeunea as a synonym of Lejeunea .…”
