Abstract: Since a metal-base printed wiring board (PWB) with superior thermal conductivity has been widely used in power electronics products, high reliability is required at high electric field. Many reports have already covered surface' copper ionic migrations on PWBs which occur short-circuits on the board. The migration growing into the depth direction of a insulation layer has been clearly observed recently, and it is revealed that the growth depends on the ionic impurities of the resin. We measured space charge beh… Show more

“…Typical results ob tained shown in Table 2 are as follows. Space charge formation caused by crosslinking agent residues [181 or additives [19], space charge accu mulation at the interface of two-layer materials [29,30,321, charge be havior near the field of electric breakdown [33][34][35], charge behavior in the material after electron-beam [36] and 'I-beam irradiation [37], space· charges in organic photoconductive materials used in electronic photo copy machines [38][39][40][41], also in print circuits [42] [47,48] are also reported. Furthermore, when the simultaneous measurement of thermally stimulated current (rse) and space charge distribution was developed, the displacement current due to the charge movement and the conductivity current were separated [51,52].…”
