“…The resulting liposome suspension was then sonicated for 15 min at 65 °C to obtain small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) . While liposomes can be susceptible to higher temperatures, the sonication parameters used in our investigation were chosen based on previous research and methodologies. Visual inspection of the prepared liposomes incorporated gamma-oryzanol for changes to their physical characteristics, including color, transparency, and the presence of any visible particles or aggregates. Alteration in these visual attributes could indicate changes in the physical state of the liposomes, such as aggregation or degradation.…”

“…After evaporation of the solvent, dried lipid films were hydrated by 20 mM Tris-HCl and 50 mM NaCl (TN buffer, pH 7.9) to a final lipid concentration of 5 mM. Small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) were prepared by sonication of lipid suspension in cold water in a Branson M2800 ultrasonic bath sonicator for 20 minutes (Mendez, 2023), followed by passing them through 0.1 µm polycarbonate membranes (Avanti Polar Lipids) 13 times. SUVs can be stored at 4 °C for 7 days without freezing/thawing.…”
