Some Remarks Concerning Trichophyton proliferans

Abstract: Summary: We have had the opportunity to study an dermatophyte isolated from the face of a woman, as a result of a fall on the ground. We identified the strain as Trichophyton proliferans whose characteristics, together with a review of the works published about this dermatophyte, lead us to believe that we are dealing with an independent species and not a synonym of T. mentagrophytes var. erinacei.
