“…Since basal SMc levels did not change after PRED removal, we could consider that SMc activity was abnormal on PRED. This had already been demonstrated in other studies (3, 21).…”

“…In pediatric recipients of renal allografts, linear growth is commonly impaired in spite of good renal function, bone age, alternate‐day corticosteroid therapy, etc. (1, 2, 3, 4). This impairment is attributed to the corticosteroid effects on growth.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Allo graft function must be sufficient to facilitate optimal growth. Children with an allograft GRF <60 m l/min/ 1.732 manifest suboptimal growth [43]. The importance of allograft function on post-transplant growth is illustrated in figure 1.…”

“…Earlier clinical studies have also alluded to the possibility that corticosteroid associated growth retardation could be due to decreased somatomedin activity (14)(15)(16). In patients receiving alternate day corticosteroid therapy, somatomedin levels were noted to be higher on the days off steroids (14).…”
