Objective: To assess the quality of life related to health for heart failure patients and to relate sociodemographic and clinical data. Method: It is an observational and transversal study, with quantitative approach, carried out in a heart failure ambulatory in the state of Pernambuco. Results: In the sample (n=101), there was prevalence of men older than 60 years old, married and professionally inactive. The quality of life related to health, based on the Minnesota Living With Heart Failure Questionnaire, was considered moderate (34.3±21.6), being significantly related to age (p=0.004), functional class (p<0.001), and patients with chagasic cardiopathy (p=0.02). Conclusion: The quality of life in the HF group of chagasic etiology was more compromised, specially in the emotional dimension. It is suggested that studies on the hypothesis that longer ambulatory follow-up improves quality of life and that having Chagas disease interferes negatively with the quality of life of heart failure patients.

Objective: to understand the representational content about HIV/AIDS among seropositive elderly people. Method: a qualitative study carried out from April to May 2017, in the city of Recife/PE, with 48 seropositive elderly people, through a semi-structured interview. The Social Representations Theory was used as theoretical framework and the method of lexical analysis through IRAMUTEQ software. Results: it was observed that the social representation of HIV is structured around the proximity of death and that it is a disease of restricted groups, leading to feelings of sadness. On the other hand, it is evident a transformation of the representation linked to the reified knowledge, leading to the process of naturalization of the disease. Final considerations: it is concluded that the elderly living with HIV, when they undergo a process of reframing about the disease, become more flexible to deal with their condition of seropositivity.

Objetivo: Relatar o uso de gerontotecnologias com um grupo de idosos em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) localizada em Belém-PA. Metodologia: Trata-se de um trabalho descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa do tipo de relato de experiência, realizado no mês maio de 2019, pelos membros da Liga Acadêmica de enfermagem em Saúde do Idoso (LAESI). As estratégias utilizadas envolveram gerontotecnologias de forma lúdica, incluindo “jogos da atenção”, “dance na cor”, “jogo da memória”, “quebra cabeças”, “jogo da vareta” e “somando e brincando”. Resultados e discussão: Durante o uso dessas tecnologias percebeu-se que houve aceitação da metodologia proposta evidenciada pela participação ativa das idosas. A aplicabilidade das gerontotecnologias direcionada a pessoa idosa ajuda na manutenção da qualidade de vida no período da senescência, permitindo identificar possíveis fatores de riscos que compreendem o declínio da cognição, memória, percepção visual e mobilidade. Isso possibilita o estabelecimento de intervenções para evitar complicações irreversíveis na vida da pessoa idosa. Considerações finais: Observou-se que os benefícios observados poderiam ser melhores se houvesse constância de atividades destinadas aos idosos com uso de gerontotecnologias na atenção básica trabalhando crucialmente na promoção e saúde.
