“…This measure has now been abandoned by those who introduced it (Lipton et al, 1983). Another popular measurewas theuseofpanels ofraterstosubjectively scale the quality of tracking (Iacono & Lykken, 1979;Siever et al, 1982). While such ratings have proven to be reproducible, it is impossible to relate a poor score to a specific type of performance deficit.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Platelet MAO activity has been studied in relation to several other biological markers. It did not relate to smooth pursuit eye tracking abnormalities (Siever et al 1982). However, Tachiki et al (1984) found a correlation between platelet MAO and VBR in nonparanoid schizophrenics.…”

“…ETD, low gain, and increased saccade frequency occur in BRSP, most of whom are not clinically ill and have not been exposed to neuroleptic or other psychotropic drugs (Holzman et al 1974, 1980, 1984, 1988; Kuechenmeister et al 1977; Siegel et al 1984; Mather 1985; Clementz et al 1990, 1992; Blackwood et al 1991 a ; Grove et al 1991; Iacono et al 1992). College students with schizotypal personality features (Siever et al 1982 b ) or SPD (Lencz et al 1993) have ETD, as do some psychometrically defined schizotypes (Simons and Katkin 1985); these subjects also have not been treated with neuroleptics. Patients with SPD and schizophrenia have equally high rates of ETD (Smeraldi et al 1987; Keefe et al 1989; Siever et al 1990).…”
