“…The mechanism of the covalent bonding of silicone oil molecules with the glass substrate due to annealing is schematically shown in Fig. 1a, which is also demonstrated by Pant et al 29 Hence, this would make the substrate hydrophobic with excellent slipperiness. The water droplets on the fabricated slippery surface sliding with a very small tilt angle suggests that a small gravitational force was enough to overcome the pinning force of the slippery surface.…”

“…Static water drops deposited on silicone oil coated solid surfaces are cloaked with a thin layer of oil due to positive spreading coefficient of oil on water. Spreading parameter ( , subscript O , W and V represent oil, water and vapour respectively) for our system is 8.5 mN/m 72 . Once these oil cloaked water drops slip from the lubricant coated surface, they slowly remove oil from the surface thus decrease the lubricating layer thickness which affect the velocity of slipping water drop.…”

“…The special liquid delivery method at the mouth of Nepenthes has important reference significance for the development and design of a new directional flow delivery system, and it has a wide application prospect in the field of fog water collection and transportation [161][162][163] . However, the effect of the surface wettability and structural parameters of Nepenthes is not clear.…”
