Singlet portal to the hidden sector

Abstract: Ultraviolet physics typically induces a kinetic mixing between gauge singlets which is marginal and hence non-decoupling in the infrared. In singlet extensions of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, e.g. the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model, this furnishes a well motivated and distinctive portal connecting the visible sector to any hidden sector which contains a singlet chiral superfield. In the presence of singlet kinetic mixing, the hidden sector acquires a light mass scale in the range 0… Show more

“…Similar counterintuitive decay patterns would be present for a wino-like LOSP, and in general, one should contemplate the possibility of any LOSP decay pattern consistent with SM charges. Those LOSP decays might involve an uneaten goldstino as in this paper, but could also be present with a light axino [24,25] or a new light hidden sector [26,27,28]. To our mind, the most intriguing possibilities involve copious higgs boson production in the final stages of a SUSY cascade decay, which may offer new higgs discovery modes and give further motivation for boosted higgs searches.…”

“…This can occur singlet kinetic mixing scenarios in which X ′ kinetically mixes with a visible sector singlet, as in [51]. Alternatively, λ may be small if X ′ or the MSSM Higgs fields are composite operators, in which case H u H d X ′ will arise from some primordial higher dimension operator suppressed by a high scale M * .…”
