Abstract: InTRODUÇÃODisfagia é o principal sintoma das doenças do esôfago sendo a sua caracterização muito importante para o manejo destes pacientes 5 . Ela é representada pela dificuldade em deglutir o alimento ingerido no trajeto da orofaringe até o estômago, podendo estar associada a outros sintomas como: regurgitação, aspiração traqueobrônquica, dor retroesternal independente do esforço físico (relacionada ou não à alimentação), pirose, rouquidão, soluço e odinofagia.
