Aim. Analysis of the impact of educational simulation on the level of knowledge, skills and competences of nursing students.Methods. The research used a non-systematic literature analysis method. Literature was classified for analysis, from which the contents on the impact of educational simulation on the education process of nursing students were selected. During the qualification of the magazines Google Scholar was used. Articles published in electronic databases were used: EBSCOhost, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect.Conclusions. Education conducted using educational simulation in nursing not only increases the level of knowledge, skills and competences of students but also increases the quality of patient care and their security.

“…There is evidence that students who spend at least 25% of their clinical time in simulation work more effectively in teams and make appropriate clinical decision more quickly than those students who spend less clinical simulation time ( Masters, 2014 ) The National League for Nursing (2015) endorses the results of the NCSBN study and has made strong recommendations to the administrators and faculty of nursing programs to incorporate simulation into undergraduate nursing programs. The recognition of the importance of simulation has persuaded both nursing educators and state policy makers to focus on the use of simulation and a priority requirement for student clinical hours ( Anderson et al., 2019 ; Florida Board of Nursing, 2019 ). Introduction Changes in nursing, health care, and education warrant continued pedagogical innovations. Faculty are challenged to develop many innovative strategies in the clinical and simulation laboratory setting. Intentional simulation-based learning experiences are one method to prepare new graduates for nursing practice. Methods One college integrated intentional simulation-based learning experiences as an improvement strategy in a newly transformed undergraduate nursing curriculum, from mapping through evaluation and revision. Simulation-based learning experiences that were intentionally mapped, organized, and interactive enhanced the teaching and learning needs of students and faculty. Conclusion The positive outcomes from this curricular transformation serve as a platform for continuous improvement for future approaches to nursing education. This affirmed that the key to transforming a nursing curriculum encompasses intentional mapping, evaluation, and revision.

AimThis study aims to evaluate the effects of daily life activities simulation on the attitudes of first‐year nursing students toward older adults within the scope of geriatric nursing.MethodsThe study was carried out using a pretest‐posttest, quasi‐experimental design. First‐year undergraduate students (N = 119) of a nursing faculty constituted the study sample. The students were divided into two groups as intervention and control groups. The intervention group performed the daily life activities simulation. Data were collected by using Kogan's Attitudes Towards old People Scale (KAOP) and Positive and Negative Ageism Scale (PNAS). SPSS Ver. 22.00 software was used for statistical analysis. Chi‐square test, and t test were used for comparative statistics.ResultsMost of the participants were female, and mean age was 20.96 ± 3.24. Intergroup comparison of the KAOP and PNAS scores reveals a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores for the simulation group (p ˂ .05). The posttest KOAP and PNAS scores of the simulation and control groups were statistically significantly different (p ˂ .05).ConclusionDaily life activities simulation is an effective method to improve nursing students' positive attitudes toward older adults. Participant feedback from our study shows that the simulation increased empathy and awareness of geriatric nursing.
