Abstract: Treatment of pediatric acute staphylococcal osteomyelitis can be simplified and costs reduced by keeping surgery at a minimum, shortening hospitalization and the course of antimicrobials, switching quickly to the oral route, and not monitoring serum bactericidal activity.
