Significant features of basal and maximal energy expenditure parameters in obese adults

Abstract: A sensitive and selective method for the simultaneous determination of copper and cadmium in seawater, river water, and tea samples is described. The method is based on the adsorptive accumulation of 2,2dithiosalicylic acid complexes of these elements onto a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by reduction of adsorbed species by voltammetric scan using differential pulse modulation. Optimal analytical conditions were as follows: ligand concentration of 11 nM, pH of 9.5, and an adsorption potential at -300… Show more

“…Three of them refused because they did not want to perform daily physical activity and other tests. The mean duration of disease was 8.7 AE 3.1 years; the median number of tender points was 15 (11)(12)(13)(14)(15)(16)(17)(18), and the mean FIQ score was 54.9 AE 19.6 in patients with fibromyalgia. None of the patients disclosed an increased pain level during strength or/and aerobic exercise tests.…”

“…The tests were performed in the same time period (08 : 30–10 : 30) of the day. After resting for 15 min, the measurements were applied to the participants in a silent, dark laboratory at room temperature . The participants were asked to put on a face mask, lay in a supine position, and not move their arms or legs during the test.…”

“…A relationship between obesity and COPD is increasingly recognized, although the nature of this association remains unknown (9). Uygur et al also found that body fat percentage and total body fat were negatively correlated at a strong level with aerobic capacity in obese individuals (10). The potential interaction among aerobic capacity, oxidative stress, daily physical activity, pulmonary function, and body composition parameters in mild to moderate COPD may provide more insight into some physiopathological aspects of the disease at the initial stage.…”
