Sequential distribution of gas reservoirs in the Hangjinqi area, Ordos Basin, North China: Application of continuous and discontinuous hydrocarbon accumulation mode

Abstract: Gas reservoirs can be divided into two types based on the migration and accumulation processes, and distribution characteristics associated with the reservoirs: continuous accumulation that is within or adjacent to the source rocks and discontinuous accumulation that is in the reservoir rocks. Correspondingly, reservoirs can also be classified as conventional reservoirs, unconventional reservoirs and reservoirs in a transitional state. In order to demonstrate differences and regularities in the distribution ch… Show more

“…Quartz grains are the main constituent minerals of the shale samples and also an important product of different shale diagenesis. Therefore, their variation characteristics are important indicators of the diagenetic process and structural differences of shale. , The source of silica reportedly exerts an important influence on the diagenetic process of Longmaxi shale . The biological source of the siliceous components represents the flourishing of organisms, such as radiolarians, and also indicates that the primary productivity in the water reaches a high level, which causes the total organic carbon content to be high.…”
