Semi-inclusive charged-current neutrino-nucleus cross sections in the relativistic plane-wave impulse approximation

Abstract: Neutrino-nucleus quasielastic scattering is studied in the plane-wave impulse approximation for three nuclear models: the relativistic Fermi gas (RFG), the independent-particle shell model (IPSM), and the natural orbitals (NO) model with Lorentzian dependence of the excitation energy. A complete study of the kinematics of the semi-inclusive process and the associated cross sections are presented and discussed for 40 Ar and 12 C. Inclusive cross sections are also obtained by integrating the semi-inclusive expre… Show more

“…The model used was PWIA together with the Rome spectral function [62,63], as described, e.g., in Refs. [60,66]. Equation ( 22 tells us that for fixed nucleon and final lepton energies, if one neglects the kinetic energy of the residual system T B , which under typical QE conditions is always very small, then one finds a one-to-one linear relation between the initial lepton energy and the missing energy.…”

“…Semi-inclusive CC1p0π cross sections function of muon and proton kinematics have been published also by MicroBooNE [26,52]. The theoretical investigation on semi-inclusive cross sections [85,86,[125][126][127][128][129] and on transverse kinematic imbalances [75,120,130] are only at the beginning, as well as the studies related to the emission of nucleon pairs induced by meson exchange currents and short range correlations [85,86,131,132].…”
