Abstract: Culture f iltrates of 20 fungi isolated from citrus soils were screened for their activity against Tylenchulus semipenetrans in both in vitro and greenhouse tests. The filtrates of Talaromyces cyanescens (isolates 2-4 and 2-5), Paecilomyces lilacinus, Chaetomium robustum, Acremonium strictum, Engyodontium album, Myrothecium verrucaria, Emericella rugulosa, and Tarracomyces gigaspora consistently inhibited the motility of second-stage juveniles at various concentrations of the filtrate. Dose-response models wer… Show more

“…In the 60-70% FCF treatments, the subcultured whole callus tissues became brown and necrotic after 4-6 d of culture. The autoclaved culture filtrates showed the same level of activity and their active metabolites might be highly thermostable (Verdejo-Lucas et al, 2009). Another report also confirmed the thermostable compounds of D-arabitol pentaacetate, D-mannose p-nitroanilide and 1,2,3,4,6α-D-glucose pentaacetate in Puccinia graminis var.…”

“…The undiluted filtrates and the 1/ 4 or 1/8 dilutions with sterile distilled water (SDW) were used. Because our preliminary tests had shown that neither the YM medium nor SDW caused any mortality in M. incognita (data not shown), only SDW was used as control in the J2 mortality and penetration assays (Verdejo Lucas et al, 2009). …”
