Abstract: Sixty crude cultural filtrates of thirty fresh water fungi individually grown in both Potato Dextrose broth and GPC broth were assayed in vitro for antinematodal activity against Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner et Buhrer) Nickle using immersion test. Filtrates from Camposporium quercicola YMF1.01300, Periconia digitata YMF1.00948, Caryospora callicarpa YMF1.01026 grown in both PDB and GPC broth, and the cultural filtrate of Melanospora zamiae YMF1.00948 grown in PDB were found to be pathogenic to the teste… Show more

“…The absolute configuration assignments of the other new compounds were determined through a comparison of the CD spectra ( Supplementary Results Figs S8, 47, 55, 63, 71, 79 , and 87 ). The known compounds were identified through a comparison of the spectroscopic data with previously reported data 29 30 31 .…”

“…During this search the fungus Caryospora callicarpa was detected which produces seven compounds belonging to two groups of chemical families, macrolactons (caryospomycins A-C) (172-174) and naphthalenes (175-178). All exhibited moderate activity against B. xylophilus (LC 50 = 100-229 lg/ ml) (Dong et al 2007;Zhu et al 2008). Other nematicidals identified were pseudohalonectrin A-B (179-180), recognized as azaphilone derivatives and isolated from Pseudohalonectria adversaria (Dong et al 2006).…”

“…The signals were attributed in the base the HMBC, HSQC and COSY correlations. The spectral data were compared with the data described in the literature to (4S)-4,8-di-hydroxi-α-tetralone and showed total similarity (Zhu et al 2008). According Inácio et al (2006) the (4S)-4,8-di-hydroxi-1-tetralone showed antifungal activity by bioautography test against Cladosporium cladosporioides and C. sphaerospermum comparable to the standard nystatin and interesting allelopathic activity (Li et al 2012).…”
