Scenario-Based Hazard Assessment of Local Tsunami for Coastal Areas: A Case Study of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China

Abstract:In this study, three worst-case credible tsunamigenic scenarios (Mw8.0) from Xiamen fault 1 (XF 1), Xiamen fault 2 (XF 2) and Xiamen fault 3 (XF 3) located off the coast of Xiamen were selected to assess the local tsunami hazard for Xiamen city, Fujian province, China. The GeoClaw model was utilized to compute the propagation and inundation of the tsunami for each scenario.
