Rückfallprognosen bei Sexualstraftätern — Vergleich der prädiktiven Validität von Prognoseinstrumenten

Abstract: In order to evaluate risk assessment instruments for sex offenders in Germany, we compared the predictive validity of the Static-99, HCR-20, SVR-20, and PCL-R scales for 134 sex offenders. The mean follow-up time was 9 years (range 1-340 months), using the first entry into the National Register of Criminal Convictions as endpoint variable. For the estimate of predictive power, the area under the curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was calculated. The AUC plots accurately identified … Show more

“…Based on Hare (33), scores on the PCL-R can be categorized into three levels, with values between 0 and 16 indicating a low score, values between 17 and 24 indicating a medium score, and values above 24 indicating a high score on the construct. The reliability, concurrent and predictive validity of the PCL-R have been supported by a substantial body of literature (3337). In case of omitted items, prorated scores were used.…”

“…It should be noted, however, that the studies in question (Eher et al, 2012; Rettenberger et al, 2010) partially overlap with the current sample. Further support for the predictive validity of the Static-99 in German-speaking countries comes from a study by Stadtland et al (2006). Interrater agreement was excellent (ICC = .93, p < .001) tested in a random sample of 20 cases in Rettenberger et al (2010).…”

“…By 2009, the Static-99 had already been cross-validated in 63 samples (Hanson & Morton-Bourgon, 2009). Evidence of its predictive validity has also been observed in German-speaking countries, including Austria, Germany, and Switzerland (Endrass, Urbaniok, Held, Vetter, & Rossegger, 2009; Rettenberger, Matthes, Boer, & Eher, 2010; Stadtland et al, 2006).…”
