The present paper proposes a new methodology to aid the electrification process of local public transport (LPT). In more detail, real drive cycles of traditional buses currently in use are evaluated together with other data to simulate the consumption of equivalent e-buses (electric buses) with similar characteristics. The results are then used in order to design the best charging infrastructure. The proposed methodology is applied to the case study of Algeciras Bay, where a specific line of LPT is considered. Real measurements are used as data for the simulation model, and the average consumption of an equivalent e-bus is obtained for different operating conditions. Based on these results, different sizes and locations for fast-charging infrastructure are proposed, and the size of the depot charging system is defined trying to maintain the current buses timetable. Finally, some future developments of the present work are presented by considering other bus lines that may benefit from the introduction of the defined charging systems.

En la provincia de Tungurahua los medios de transporte público de buses han presentado problemas en la prestación de servicios, operacional y de administración, debido a que no existe una estructuración adecuada, lo que ha generado que sea lento, contaminante e inseguro para los usuarios. Por tal razón, como objetivo se pretende evaluar la satisfacción del usuario del transporte público urbano en función a la calidad del servicio ofrecido en la provincia de Tungurahua. Se aplicó el análisis descriptivo, mediante una encuesta y el análisis estadístico factorial exploratorio. Como resultado, se concluyó que existe 5 principales factores de elementos tangibles, fiabilidad, receptividad y garantía. Sin embargo, hay que considerar el factor de la empatía, que genera efectos negativos en la fiabilidad, la forma como conducen, el servicio ineficaz, la falta de información de horarios y recorridos, donde no es conveniente, ni satisfactorio para los usuarios.

The drawback of renewable technologies is the lack of coupling with energy demand, to reduce these drawbacks is by applying hydrogen as an energy vector. Hydrogen obtained from renewable energy sources could be stored and used when required, directly or in fuel cells. This work focuses on determining the hydrogen potential that can be obtained using photovoltaic plants in urban areas. In the city of Cuenca, with the renewal of the public transport vehicle fleet, it was reduced to 475 units, which emit 112 tons of CO2 and burn 11,175 gallons of diesel per day. The analysis determines the photovoltaic energy that is produced by implementing photovoltaic panels in the Historic Center of Cuenca, Ecuador. With this it is determined that the electrical energy produced is 5.5 times the demand of the study area. With the energy surplus, it was determined that energy would be available that would cover between 97% and 127% of the demand required to mobilize the total urban buses. There are advantages such as the reduction of emissions or the increase in the quality of life, but the economic and technological aspects could be barriers to the implementation of these in the medium or short term.
