A class of two-way random-effects models is presented for analyzing data that arise in a large variety of round robin designs. Examples of such designs can be found in numerous games, tournaments, and social interactions. The proposed models provide information not only about individual differences but also about the mutual contingency of the behaviors of interaction dyads. The statistical inference of the linear effects is discussed and a converging algorithm based on the EM algorithm is proposed for obtaini…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
