“…The ATR-IR spectra of the solid WPUA films shows the absence of N C O stretching band at 2270 cm −1 , indicating complete reaction of the isocyanate groups. The ATR-IR spectra show the characteristic bands of the polyurethanes [36][37][38] On the other hand, the characteristic out-of-plane bending of styrene [22] appears at 760 and 700 cm −1 , suggesting that polymerization of styrene, promoted by the redox pair, is produced because of, apart from this monomer, only the Bis-GMA presents aromatic groups in its structure, and this can be related to the height of the band at 700 cm −1 . Furthermore, the absence of the band at 1638 cm −1 , assigned to the symmetric stretching of the double C C bond, demonstrates the efficacy of the redox system in the radical polymerization.…”

“…Polycarbonates-based polyols are characterized by high polarity and strong carbonate bond expecting polyurethanes with good mechanical properties and phase separation [5]. Also, more stability has been observed toward oxidative and hydrolytic biodegradation than polyesters polyols [6].…”

“…Reciprocal interactions between soft segments enhance elongation at break and thus tensile strength. 69 H bond structures can strengthen intermolecular cohesion in TPU. 70 Kim et al observed that relative to polyether ester, TPU with carbonated soft segments has higher stiffness and thermostability and features a methyl side-chain that enhances its transparency and self-healing properties.…”
