Rivastigmine in the treatment of dementia with Lewy bodies: preliminary findings from an open trial

Abstract: The objective of this study was to assess the tolerability and efficacy of rivastigmine in a group of patients with probable dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), using an open label study. Open label treatment was with rivastigmine up to maximum tolerated dose (mean 9.6 mg daily, range 3–12 mg). Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC).
