“…The correlation of experimental and calculated T g values for the overall polymers are highly acceptable, however the same is not true for the prediction of the T g values of the aromatic polyamides. Thus, the application of equations ( 3) and (4) in order to estimate the T g values of 80 aromatic and aliphatic-aromatic polyamides found in the literature [18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25] gave a mean difference between the calculated and experimental T g values of 66 1 C, the correlation coefficient of which is 0.881. With the aim of improving the correlation, the weight attached to the different parameters as defined by Bicerano has been modified to minimize the squares of differences between predicted and measured T g values for the 80 polyamides described above.…”
