“…The use of microorganisms to induce plant resistance to pathogens of root and leaves is now well documented, showing the great potential of this strategy (Ishida et al 2008;Fontenelle et al 2011). The microbial community that is present in organic compost and in the substrate after cultivation of mushrooms might play an important role in controlling the microbiota in the rhizosphere region.…”

“…A eficiência do ASM constatada neste trabalho tem sido comprovada no controle de diversas bacterioses como a murcha e a mancha bacteriana do tomateiro, mancha angular do algodoeiro, crestamento bacteriano comum do feijoeiro e mancha bacteriana do maracujazeiro (Araújo et al, 2005;Cavalcanti et al, 2006;Ishida et al, 2008;Zacaroni, 2008;Medeiros et al, 2009;Kuhn & Pascholati, 2010;Boro et al, 2011;Junqueira et al, 2011).…”

“…O acibenzolar-S-metil (ASM) é o ativador de resistência mais estudado e tem sido efetivo no controle de bacterioses, tais como a murcha bacteriana e a mancha bacteriana do tomateiro (Araújo et al, 2005;Cavalcanti et al, 2006), mancha angular do algodoeiro (Ishida et al, 2008;Zacaroni, 2008), crestamento bacteriano comum do feijoeiro (Kuhn & Pascholati, 2010) e mancha bacteriana do maracujazeiro (Junqueira et al, 2011;Boro et al, 2011).…”

“…Germination was evaluated 15 days after sowing and disease severity at germination and every three days up to 15days after sowing for both Cgc and Xam. Severity of Cgc was evaluated on the basis of a 0 to 3 disease index, adapted by Teixeira et al 17 and severity of Xam was evaluated using a 0 to 4 scale adapted by Ishida et al 18 Disease severity was transformed into disease index 19 for each pot and used to calculate the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC). 20 Screening for each pathogen was split into five batches and the strains that resulted in the lowest AUDPC from each batch were tested again in a series of three experiments (biological replicates).…”
