“…In fact, FALT can be considered a valid alternative to the radial artery FALT. Its main advantages compared to the radial artery flap are: lower donor site morbidity, better cosmetic appearance, and a larger amount of available skin (Cigna et al, ). In case of myocutaneous perforators, we advocate the isolation of the anterior face of the perforator from fascia to the DLCF without dissecting completely the perforator from the muscle and preserving a 2 cm cuff of muscle around.…”

“…Its versatility and low morbidity make the ALT a useful free flap for the soft tissue reconstruction in the head and neck area, in which the dimension and thickness of the defects are variable. FALT can be successfully used for thinner defect closure such as the retromolar trigone, external skin, and the floor of mouth (Cigna et al, ). MYALT can be performed instead of the free rectus abdominis flap for large tongue defects reconstruction (e.g., : total glossectomy; Bianchi et al, ).…”

“…The retromolar trigone is a familiar anatomical structure to head and neck surgeons and other specialists of the oral cavity owing to its significance in cancer treatment. Numerous cancers in the retromolar trigone have been reported (Ayad et al, ; Durmus et al, ; Cigna et al, ; Horta et al, ) and various treatments and prognoses have been developed on the basis of pathological findings and metastases (Kowalski et al, ; Villeneuve et al, ; Deo et al, ; Haymerle et al, ). However, anatomical evidence of the primary site of the tumor is necessary to establish the reliability of diagnosis and treatment (Cobzeanu et al, ).…”
