Visually significant persistent outer retinal fluid following closure of a macular hole

As Ryan & Gilbert (1994) reported, the shorter the duration of a macular hole, the better the prognosis for closure and visual rehabilitation; this was an important factor in our series of patients. Like many other publicly funded units, we have a long waiting list for surgery and this may have contributed to our overall outcome.…”
